Headline Hacks—Writing Copy That Gets Noticed

Your headline is the single most important part of your print marketing. Why? Because if the headline doesn’t catch attention, the rest of your postcard or flyer won’t even get read. Too many agents stick with the same tired lines—“Just Listed,” “Just Sold,” or “Your Local Realtor.” These aren’t wrong, but they’re easy to ignore because homeowners see them everywhere.

Instead, think of your headline as your hook.

What question, phrase, or idea will make someone pause at the mailbox?

Try curiosity-driven headlines like:

  • “Guess how fast homes sold in [Neighborhood] last month…”

  • “Your neighbor just sold—do you know what it means for your home’s value?”

  • “Selling in 2025? Read this first.”

The best headlines are short, specific, and benefit-driven. They should make a homeowner feel like they’ll miss out if they don’t keep reading. A great design can get you noticed, but a sharp headline gets you remembered.
